AASHTO's newest design guide for asphalt mixes became available in January. The 2002 Mechanistic Design Procedure employs the use of new performance testing measures of mixture resistance to rutting and fatigue cracking. The objective of this study is to evaluate Wisconsin asphalt mixtures with the new mechanistic performance test to determine the feasibility of the new design guide for WisDOT. Tasks entail creating a database of mechanical properties of common Wisconsin mixtures, and evaluating the tests. |
