Title: Evaluation of Methods for Characterizing Air Void Systems in Wisconsin Paving Concrete
PI: Lawrence L. Sutter
School of Technology
Michigan Technological University
Project: Investigators will examine the relationships between various methods of measuring air-void system parameters in fresh concrete and for characterizing the air-void system in hardened concrete. They will correlate measured air-void systems parameters with freeze-thaw testing data. They will also perform a literature synthesis to document best construction practices and materials selection for producing a consistent, adequate air-void system in concrete pavements.
Task List:
  1. Literature Review
  2. Interim Report
  3. Preparation of Concrete Mixtures
  4. Testing of Fresh Concrete
  5. Data Analysis
  6. Final Report
