Title: Field Measurement of Water Cement Ratio for PCC - Phase 2
PI: Steven M. Cramer
Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
University of Wisconsin-Madison
Project: Two field methods were evaluated for measuring the water-cement ratio of concrete mixtures composed of both limestone and igneous aggregates. Only one of these methods, the microwave oven, was found to perform somewhat satisfactorily in obtaining a real-time field measurement. However using such a measure for quality control has limitations.
