Title: Specification and Design of Fiber Reinforced Bridge Deck Forms for Use on Wide Flange T-Girders
PI: Larry Bank
Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
University of Wisconsin-Madison
Project: The objective of this study is to investigate different material systems that can be used for fiber reinforced bridge deck forms for short spans (1-4 ft). Then to develop design standards for WisDOT that will be compatible with the Bureau of Structures Bridge Manual.
Task List:
  1. Form advisory group
  2. Review of literature and COTS systems
  3. Selection of fiber reinforced systems for further study
  4. Tests and analysis of selected fiber reinforced forms
  5. Design of placement, haunching and tie down details for selected systems
  6. Economic analysis of selected fiber reinforced form systems
  7. Development of material/performance specifications for best systems
  8. Development of design procedures for selected systems
  9. Final report
